Daddy Daughter Dance

so this year we all know that kailey has started school.
 well the school was putting on a Daddy Daughter Dance.

so we buy tickets for the fun evening.

well when the day approaches, boyd is sick and so we call
uncle Gage, who is way awesome and agreed to take
kailey to her dance.

then as it got closer to time for the dance, kailey decided she didnt want to go.
so Charis happily jumped in at the opportunity to go to the dance with
uncle gage.

so here they are ready to go to the Daddy Gage Daughter Charis Dance.

dont they look cute?

thanks again Gage! youre awesome!

ELF on the SHELF!

 this year we started doing "elf on the shelf ". i have been thinking of doing this for a long time and i have decided that this is the year to start! the girls are at the right age for them to understand it and for it to be fun!
although trying to find the elf was so much fun.....
after going to 3 different targets, i finally found one. it was the LAST one the 3rd target had...
 WHEW!

so meet our elf! her name is twinkle! { the girls picked it out }
for those of you  who dont know what the elf on the shelf is, its a fun little tradition you should think of starting. FIRST you "adopt" {aka buy} your elf. they come in boy and girl! { skirt sold separately!}
SECOND you read the cute little story that comes with your elf. essentially its the rules of how to use your elf. for more info go http://www.elfontheshelf.com/

THIRD every morning the kids get to wake up and find where the elf has gone to next!

its so much fun! the girls are excited every time they find where twinkle has gone!

here are some pictures of the spots twinkle has been this last week!

DAY 1

DAY 2

DAY 3

DAY 4

DAY 6

we love our elf and cant wait to see where else she goes after her trips to Santa each night!

stay tuned for more Twinkle adventures!

Santa baby!

here is this years santa picture!

the girls go get their picture taken with Santa every year with my mom.
its a fun tradition they look forward to!

this year Charis had "Jasper" the frog from her preschool class......
 hence the stupid frog and piglet in the picture.
other than that, pretty cute picture dont you think?

daddy daughter date - {kailey 11/27/2012}

Kailey and Boyd had their first daddy daughter date a week ago. dont they look cute? anywhoo they went to organ stop pizza and had a fun time! first of many to come!

it's Christmas time!!

this is the family tree. the girls and Boyd get to decorate this tree. ;) it has our hodge-podge of mix matched ornaments. you know the ones the girls get to take when they move out and the ones Boyd made as a child. its a fun tree that has a special spot in our hearts.

now this is MY tree. its a lot more gorgeous in the dark with just the tree lights on but i couldnt get a good picture so here you go.

just a few of the cute ornaments on my tree... my fave is the deer!

and of course the stockings all hung with care, too bad i dont have a chimney to hang them on....maybe one day.
